What You Need:

Plain green wreath
Gift tag punch
Hole punch

- Glue three pinecones at equal intervals around the wreath.

- Glue a group of mini baubles inbetween each pine cone.

- Cut out red and green card gift tags using a punch cutter and write on welcoming festive greetings.

2. Yarn-Wrapped Homemade Christmas Wreaths

(30.5 cm) long and wrap tightly around loops about 1 in. (2.5 cm) below top knot to form Tassel neck. Knot securely.

WREATH
With A, make 12 Tassels. Apply a small amount of glue to foam wreath, then wrap evenly with A. Continue applying small amounts of glue, then wrapping with A until Wreath is completely covered. Arrange Tassels onto Wreath. Tie yarn tails of Tassel around Wreath to secure.

BALLS (make 18)
Apply a small amount of glue to Ball, then wrap evenly with B. Continue applying small amounts of glue, then wrapping with B until Ball is completely covered.

FINISHING
Glue Balls to surface of Wreath as desired.

4. Place icy branches among tulips. Place 1 berry spray among tulips and other coming out from right side of bow. Place ivy among tulips and right side of wreath. When you are pleased with the arrangement, glue everything in place.

5. Glue pinecones throughout wreath to fill in design. Make a chenille stem loop on back for hanging.

Homemade christmas gifts for adults 2012

1. Brownie Tree

a. Prepare and bake 1 box (21.4 ounces) family-style brownie mix according to directions for 13-x-9-inch pan and cake variation using an additional egg. Let cool completely. Cut seven circles from baked brownie in the following sizes: 6 inches, 4 3/4 inches, 3 1/2 inches, 2 3/4 inches, 2 inches, 1 3/4 inches, and 1 inch. Stack circles to make tree. Push a bamboo skewer through the center of the tree to secure the layers, trimming if it sticks out of the top.

b. To decorate you’ll need 1 can (12 ounces) whipped vanilla frosting and green, yellow, blue, and red icing colors. Place 1/2 can (6 ounces) of vanilla frosting into a bowl and tint it bright green using green and yellow icing colors. Divide remaining icing between two bowls. Tint one portion blue and the other red. Place green icing in a pastry bag fitted with a medium star tip, blue icing in a pastry bag fitted with a #4 writing tip, and red icing in a pastry bag fitted with a #6 writing tip. Once tree is assembled, pipe a “garland” of green stars around base of each brownie layer. Randomly pipe red and blue dots onto brownie layers. Make a star out of a soft red candy.

2. Doggie Biscuits

a. Heat oven to 325 degrees F. Combine 3/4 cup hot water and 1/4 cup butter in a large bowl. Stir until butter melts. Add 1/2 cup powdered milk, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 large egg, beaten. Stir in 2 cups whole wheat flour, 1 cup quick oats, and 1/4 cup wheat germ. Mix until dough forms. Knead on a floured surface to form a stiff dough.

b. Roll dough out to a 1/2-inch thickness and cut out dog-bone shapes using a cookie cutter. Place on baking sheet and bake 50 minutes. Let cool completely. Store in airtight containers. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.

3. Melting Snowman Cookies

What you’ll need: dough, frosting, soft gel pastes (white, orange, green), sharp knife, frosting bag, small spatula or knife, white rolled fondant, black edible pen, light corn syrup

Make it: Bake a “blob” shaped cookie and let cool. To decorate, color frosting with white gel paste and spread across the cookie. Once your base is set, roll some fondant between your palms to form a sphere for the head (colored white) and smaller spheres for the buttons (colored green). Knead a small amount of fondant with the orange color and form a triangle for the nose. Draw on a face with a black edible pen. Adhere the fondant pieces to each other and to the cookie by dabbing your finger in light corn syrup and rubbing on the areas that will be adhered. You can either draw on the stick arms with your black pen, or pipe with a thin tip and brown frosting.

If you’ve been interested in creating your own custom calendar for the New Year, complete with your own digital photos, then this guide is for you! Another great Christmas gift idea, would be to use photos to make a calendar to highlight your favorite memories for the year to come. It may sound like a bit of a complicated task when you start to think about it, but there are some options available to you which will simplify this task!
A good size for your calendar is going to be 8.5″-11″ standard paper size. You are going to need some Semi Gloss 80lb Cardstock paper which most modern printers are able to handle. Also you will need to make sure that the digital photos which you are going to use are at the highest resolution possible. And be creative enough to use appropriately themed photos for each month.
Okay, now print out all of your pictures making sure that the digital photo image prints on the semi-gloss side of the paper. It’s not a bad idea to run a test photo to make sure everything is looking good!
Now keep in mind that a calendar starts in January, so on the back of the photo you chose to use for February, you want to print the January generated calendar on the back of that… And so on, and so on till you have the whole year printed out!
You can either 3 hole punch the pages and place it in a small binder, or visit an office supply store or print shop to see if they’d spiral bind it for you for a small fee!

Materials : a container, pebbles, potting soil, deactivated charcoal, a couple small plants (I used Dwarf Flag and South African Squill), moss, a figurine or miniature to personalize your piece.

Step 1: Put an inch of pebbles in the bottom of your container and sprinkle a few tablespoons of charcoal on top
